To Displace 2017
Re-purposing my mother's sewing box after her death in an attempt to subvert the narrative of grief. Exchanging original contents with rolled fabric from used women's clothes and domestic textiles, highlights the traditionally feminine processes of useless hoading of scraps, saved in keeping with the idea of; make, do and mend.
Materials: wooden sewing box, material cut and rolled from many used, womens clothes and domestic fabrics, japanese paper, paint, wax, glue.
